An Introduction to Intuitive Art
Green House Festival
As part of the Green House Festival, Neesha hosted an online live streamed workshop introducing intuitive art via Facebook and Instagram. It was part of a weekender celebration of art curated by Green Shoes Arts that took place in May 2020.
The one hour session introduced people to a way to become free and intuitive when creating new art.
To begin all participants were told in advance to bring with them an object.
They were told to observe their object in ways which would create an interpretation of it, not a realistic portrait.
Participants were encouraged to use their feelings, memories, and senses.
Every mark that people made was correct. It was time to throw their eraser away, be brave and trust their instincts.
Participants were given the chance to experiment with different materials, tools and given space to explore what they enjoyed most.
