Magical Mondays
Magical Mondays was a 10-week journey through various art styles, bringing participants together to explore creativity, experiment with new techniques, and craft unique and enchanting artworks each week.
Week 1 - Intro Session
Week 2 - Wax Resistance Technique
Week 3 - Magical Realism
Participants expressed their thoughts on magic using large combined paper, starting our creative journey with different mediums.
Using wax resistance techniques, participants created hidden designs with candles and pastels that revealed themselves under colorful inks.
Magical realism took center stage as participants combined real-world settings with imaginative concepts, working with a muted palette.












Week 4 - Print Making
Week 5 - Image Transfer
Week 6 - Exhibition visit
We learned cyanotype and leaf printing with Niamh Saint, creating nature-inspired images that developed magically in sunlight.
Experimenting with image transfer, participants layered old photos with acetate, paper, and pen to craft unique, colorful prints.
A visit to St Mary’s Church to view Nancy Willis’s exhibition inspired participants to explore her evolving styles and create their own work.












Week 7 - Magical Location
Week 8 - Creating to Music
Week 9 - Larger Final Pieces Begin
Participants discovered artistic methods to make places feel magical and began crafting their own.
Listening to music, participants translated its emotions into expressive drawings, capturing each mood on paper.
Participants began working on their larger final pieces, building on their previous work and exploring new techniques.












Week 10 - Larger Final Pieces Completed
The larger final pieces were completed, with everyone adding their finishing touches to their creative projects.
